  1. LOVE the advice at #11 as I gaze at my “thoughtfully disordered” living room 🙂 I knew I really liked what my new-to-me down sofa adds to the room ($80 find at thrift shop!) but this article really helps me to understand “why” the room works… depth, contrast, texture, etc.

  2. Agreed, Athina! I have a brown leather sofa, a beige tweed chair, and a wooden chair, and in the winter there are plaid throws and pillows that are lively and pick up the colors from the throws. I also have very colorful art. In the summer the plaid is tucked into baskets, and much more light pours in.
